Did you know that Abraham first was Abram? And Peter (the first pope) used to be named Simon? And of course Paul, when slaughtering Christians and saying Jesus was a fake, was Saul! Their name was changed to show a change of heart.
And now it’s time to add YOUR name to this list. Your Confirmation Name, that is!
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a special time in your life when the Holy Spirit can change YOU for the better, too. And to make the change more real, YOU, TOO will choose a name that signifies this change.
1. Choose a name that has meaning to you and is also a Christian name (like a saint’s name). You may want to get input from family or friends.
*
2. Research the name. Look at
www.catholic.org/saints
and
www.americancatholic.org
for help.
3. Write an essay (at least 7 sentences) sharing why this name is meaningful to you and telling something of the saint’s life.
