Cremation Garden Policies
Eligibility:
All are welcome to place cremated human remains in our Cremation Garden. Final judgment in all cases remains with the pastor.
Conditions:
The exclusive right to place in a space the cremated remains of an eligible person, and to keep them there as long as the Cremation Garden shall be maintained, shall be on the following terms:
The purchase price of such exclusive right shall be the sum of $ 2,200.00. This will include the space, outer burial container, 12”X24” marker, inscription ( the inscription on the marker at the time it is ordered is limited to a total of 60 characters, additional charges for more than 60 characters or for any additional inscription done after the marker is placed.), and placement of the cremated remains. Adding the date of death is the responsibility of the owner and not covered by the purchase price.
An additional burial may be placed under the same marker for the sum of $800.00. If the inscription requires additional characters there will be an additional charge. Burials may not occur between December 1st and April 30th. The cremated remains, if necessary, will be stored until weather permits.
Lease:
A completed lease agreement signed by the purchaser and the pastor will be delivered to the purchaser when payment is complete. At the time of purchase the lease will be signed by the purchaser.
Uniformity:
All grave markers will be of a uniform size and lettering. The size is: 24” (L) x 12” (W) x 4” (D). The internal dimensions of the outer burial container are 12” (L) x 8” (W) x 8” (D).
The layout for the inscription will be the Cross, Name of person or persons, dates of Birth and Death.
Veteran Administration supplied Military grave markers can be used. The flat granite grave marker is 24” (L) x 12” (W) x 4” (D).
Permission:
No inurnment of cremated remains will be permitted without the express permission of the holder of the contract, except in cases where the contractual holder him or herself has died and the cremated remains are to be interred.
Ownership:
The original purchaser retains ownership of the space and refunds will not be given. It is the owner’s responsibility to transfer use of the space. St. Francis will assist in finding a new owner and the transfer of ownership at the owner’s request. The original contract remains in effect with a letter of permission as an addendum. An additional folder will be created for the new use with copies of the original purchase included. A new grave marker and outer burial container will have to be purchased by the new owner.
Payment Terms:
The space is to be paid in full within one year from date of purchase. The space must be paid in full before cremated remains may be placed.
Flowers:
Flowers may be placed only at designated locations.
Visiting Hours:
The Cemetery will be open to visitors from dawn to dusk.
Committee:
St. Francis Parish shall at all times have full control of the Cremation Garden. Such control shall be exercised by the pastor or the appointed parish representative.
